We welcome the addition of published and characterized strains of Chlamydomonas and its plasmids. We also accept uncharacterized strains in need of further study, and strains from retiring laboratories, on a case-by-case basis. We will provide a FedEx account number for shipping your strains to us. Please contact us.

For each submitted culture and plasmid, at a minimum, include the strain/plasmid name and reference. If you would like to include more, use some or all of the categories below and email the information for each strain or plasmid in MS Word or as a PDF.
Cultures
• Source (the person and institution depositing the strain)
• Strain (name of the strain)
• Alleles, locus and chromosome (list whatever mutant alleles are in the strain and to what loci and chromosome they correspond)
• Background (e.g. CC-125, CC-1690, etc.)
• Origin (mutagenesis, cross, or other information on how the strain was obtained)
• Culture maintenance (light conditions, special media, etc.)
• Comment (whatever else you want to say about it)
• References (the primary publication describing the strain, and any others that are important)
Plasmids
• Source (the person and institution depositing the strain)
• Plasmid (name of the plasmid)
• Vector
• Origin (how it was constructed)
• Insert (content, size, restriction site; e.g. “nuclear DNA, 8.0 EcoRI-KpnI fragment”)
• Comment (whatever else you want to say about it)
• E. coli host strain (e.g. DH5α)
• Selection in E. coli (e.g. ampicillin)
• References (the primary publication describing the strain, and any others that are important)
Plasmid depositions should include a map and/or sequence
