Cilia are specialised cellular organelles that are united in structure and ubiquitously implicated in key life processes including sensing, locomotion, and the production of physiological flows. This meeting will bring together biologists, biophysicists, and mathematicians to highlight the remarkable diversity of systems in which motile cilia fulfil vital functions, and to inspire and define novel interdisciplinary strategies for future research.

The schedule of talks and speaker biographies can be found below. Recorded audio of the presentations will be available on this page after the meeting has taken place. Meeting papers will be published in a future issue of Philosophical Transactions B.

Poster session

There will be a poster session on Monday 18 March. If you would like to apply to present a poster please submit your title, proposed abstract (not more than 200 words and in third person), author list, name of the proposed presenter and authors’ institutions to the Scientific Programmes team no later than Monday 4 February 2019. Please include the text ‘Poster abstract submission’ and the meeting title in the subject line. Please note that places are limited and are selected at the scientific organisers’ discretion. Poster abstracts will only be considered if the presenter is registered to attend the meeting. There is also an opportunity to give a short talk at the meeting. Please indicate if you would also like your abstract to be considered for a short talk.
