Chlamy Center price increases

In response to the effects of the Covid pandemic and increased operating costs, the Chlamydomonas Resource Center needs to increase prices for our core cultures and plasmids from $20 per strain to $30. CLiP mutants, Hutner’s trace elements, educational kits, fosmids and BACs will remain unchanged. Prices had been fixed for more than 8 years, but the increases will be needed to overcome budget shortfalls. Note that most of the revenue for CRC activities comes from user fees. Annual subscriptions to the CRC are still available in amounts of $500 (for up to 5 orders totaling 50 cultures with free shipping) and $1000 (for up to 15 orders totaling 150 cultures). These subscriptions offer users a substantial discount over full price for strain orders, and they provide a much-needed source of revenue to help fund the Chlamydomonas Resource Center.
