Phenotype: requires arginine; wall deficient
This strain is transformable with the ARG7 gene. It did not appear to form diploids with a cw15 arg2 stock (CC-425 mt+) in crosses in 1983, suggesting that it may actually contain the arg7-8 (arg2) allele rather than the original arg7 as suggested by Howell’s designation. The arginine requirement has been stable.
